Academy
The International Academy of Arts is located in the old city of Vallauris, nearby Sophia-Antipolis and 20 minutes away from the International Airport of Nice-Côte d'Azur. The Academy has been built in 2001 on request of the minister of culture of Valluris-Golfe Juan: Ivan Tetelbom by Prof. Jürgen Waller, previously the director of the "Hochschule für Künste Bremen" . Prof. Waller has been nominated Art Director by the Association for cultural exchange (Verein zum kulturellen Austausch), recognized in Germany as public utility, in order to bring his twenty five years of Art teaching experience as well as his thirteen years of Art school management practice. His professional experience together with a long successful Artist record is giving the Academy a guarantee of professionalism and quality.

Art offer
The International Academy of Arts is proposing classical disciplines such as painting, drawing, carving, sculpture and, of course, ceramics as Vallauris is one of the top well known cities for it made famous by Picasso. The first part of the semester is dedicated to the building of the basic knowledge in Art: drawing, perspective, composition, colors, aso. The second part of the semester will be oriented around the digital arts through photography, video and web-design. The number of students by class is limited in order to guarantee individual follow-up. All the professors are either experienced in teaching or international artists or Art historians. The Academy owns a large library of books adapted to the various courses and the current movements on the Côte d'Azur.

Goals
The goal of the studies is to allow all students to have the most adapted training to their individual needs. The International Academy of Arts will keep informed the general public about mission and objectives through cultural events such as conferences, seminars or Art shows. It will as well push for International Cultural exchanges.

Scientific offer
Art Scientific seminars and Art history conferences will complement the studies and will help the students understand contemporary Art. The visits of Museums and other show places will allow the students to position the various Art researches in the history. The International Academy of Arts will organize those guided visits to Museums and other institutions together with the people responsible of the show.

  The studies
The semester starts in general with the drawing practice including drawing sessions with nude people. Then the student will select his/her own drawing subjects in order to stimulate creativity and to apply the learning. The carving will bring the student to the third dimension. After three months the student will have the choice to follow the classical visual art disciplines or the study of digital art. A week of Digital Art Philosophy seminar will initiate this second choice. The digital photography course will be of three weeks after an introduction to PhotoShop of two days. The students together with the professor will review the work done. Then the students can investigate the video and web-design domains during one or more semesters. The specific courses are of one week and the content will be defined together with the professor. The duration of the on-going training of web-design will depend on the current level of the student and his/her professional aspiration. A show of the best pieces of work will be organized at the end of the semester.

Exhibitions and seminars
The International Academy of Art together with stArt, Nice and Atelier49, Vallauris will organize Art shows of local Artists who will openly dialog with the public and the students so that one can learn and understand other views about Art. Seminars will be organized to handle basic questions about the carrier of an Artist such as the marketing strategies, the selection of galleries, taxes, insurances and social security.

At the end of each training cycle the International Academy of Arts will create a publication about the various events. All cultural and artistic shows are public.
