Artist in Residence
The «Association pour les Echanges Culturels, reconnue d'utilité publique», whose headquarters is situated both in Germany and France, offers its programme «ARTISTES IN RESIDENCE» in Vallauris, France.
Subjects: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, literature
Duration of stay: from 1 month to 6 months

Vallauris: a town dedicated to ceramics and  creators

Studios are located in the «rue Haute», right in the centre of Vallauris old town, near the Marlet Place and the Picasso Museum. Each flat boasts an open space kitchen, a shower room, toilets, international TV, a DVD player and Internet access. On the groundfloor is the IAA Office with full computing equipment.

 




  

Vallauris belongs to the French Riviera and is situated 1.2 km from the seaside, between Cannes and Nice, it is one of the most famous dedicated places for ceramics. The 'International Academy of Arts' is happy to give any artists (painters, drawers, ceramists) the opportunity to rent a studio in town, for a limited period, and work in the Academy workshops. The Academy workshops are located in one of the lasr yards ( les « cours ») of  ceramics works still in good working condition at the old town outskirts. That is where such artists as Picasso, Braque, Chagall, Pigonon etc. had been working in their days.

A five minutes walk takes you to the spacious Academy Workshops (some 140 m2). Electrical oven, Raku oven, electrical potter's wheels, easels, and all sculpting tools available.
